i was driving my car for about an hour down the expressway. Started running really rough about a mile from my destination. I managed to limp it to where I had to go. Now it barely starts and wont respond to throttle barely, sometimes if I catch it at half throttle it will rev up smooth. I have a 92 Ive been using for parts. Ive changed ecu, cam sensors, crank sensors, all relays, and re-timed the belt. The car is lowered and did rub through harness on lf , but I fixed wires properly and relocated. If I move the harness it doesnt change. Im e mechanic and I cant figure this out. I checked spark, test light didnt light up but it got me, its getting spark. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I own a is 250 that I purchased from the auction and I am having a problem with programming the smart key and also the ECU does anyone know a repair shop that specializes in Lexus computer programming in the Michigan or Ohio area that could help me get this vehicle on the road??
Replacing front window track/weatherstrip and guide rollers necessitated removal of thin clear plastic hole "plugs".
After plug removal, the adhesive did not reattach to the door frame, so replacement is in order.
Lexus offers upgraded P.N. 90333-35002. ....thicker material for better isolation of exterior door noise and window motor sounds.
A few images depicting the work area:
Upper and lower plugs missing.
Must use professional grade wax and grease remover or new plugs will not fully adhere... Used Eastwood brand.
New black plugs with pressure sensitive adhesive...old plug lower right...
New plugs installed...
Notice the thin plastic access hole cover sheet held in place with butyl tape... Raised and lowered the window and could discern a lot of (normal) motor noise that was permeating this flimsy barrier. Using a .080\" piece of mass-loaded vinyl would decrease wind, road and window lift mechanism noise considerably. On information, newer models use a metal access covee plate.

You would think the Dealer ( Lexus) would have more
competent technicians. I bought my SC to get the car tinted
and the work came out great but after a week later, I notice
they must have put something on the back of the roof
putting a few small dings/dents in the aluminum roof
Here is the before pictures and the after shots
Fortunately,I know one of the best PDR in CA
and the three dings were removed.
The aluminum roof is not easy for a new PDR
and only a seasoned PDR can take any dings out
Since i brought my car since 2014 March..... i have replaced apx 4 batteries...... today marks the 5th battery......
Lexus batteries are bad quality!..........
they check everything and said battery doesn't hold a charge, therefore they replaced....... thank god the car can still start up somehow after few tries...........
extend warranties doesn't cover batteries and my car is only 51K.
Herro friens,
so i bought da kine artsy sprint kit for my da kine LS460 and er taught i wud sare my experience.
First off, i really hate to say this but I ordered my kit through Vivid Racing and am not pleased with the course of events. I was over promised and under delivered. What was the most upsetting was the response time (initally) and the poor attention to detail regarding my order. I don't intend to go further into detail but i will say that for future purchases, i will reach out to other vendors. This isnt my first time ordering aero parts whether it be Japan or the US.
Lets move on. Ordered an Artisan Spirit lip kit for my 2010 LS460 (cant afford full bumpers at the moment). order placed in March, 80-90 days lead time and it arrived just yesterday. Order was delayed but giving you a heads up of typical lead times for this stuff.
This is a work in progress so i will update as time goes by. Starting with the skirts as generally they are the easiset to work with IMO. Fitment of the side skirts is extremely well, i will say 9/10. These skirts goes OVER the existing skirts which was interesting to me. The side skirts arent that much lower than the stock skirts. Its particilarly lower in the front and rear by maybe half an in ch to 3/4 of an inch but the center portion doesnt change much. Some pics below.
Rear lip and front lip i can hopefully do tomorrow if time permits. Hope this thread helps because damn there really isnt much threads on here for aftermarket aero reviews other than peoples builds.
I have a 2010 ES350 with NAV (no ML). I can only hear the preview channel on Sirius. I've paid my renewal but the receiver won't change channels no matter how much I troubleshoot with them. Says "channel unauthorized" and stays on the preview channel when I hit a different preset. Does anyone have a fix for this (I'm thinking of purchasing an Onyx unit and trying that or I was reading about something called VAIS on here).

Some teaser information about the NOVEL Exhaust System for the Lexus LC500 has just been released! Utilizing the OEM Header and Midpipe it is looking like this system is offered as a rear section. Pricing and release date hasn't been determined yet, but what do you guys think of the system?

Long time reader of the forums, first time poster.. wanted to thank everyone for everything i've learned over the past year or so.. i'm glad to say that thanks to this community, i have finally decided to pull the trigger on an LS400 as my first vehicle.
As these vehicles aren't exactly abundant in my area, i wanted the community's opinions on a potential prospect.. pardon me if this isn't the appropriate way of going about inquiring, and please point me in a better direction if it isn't.
Seller is asking $5500, car has 165k on it, timing belt/water pump last done at 115k, has had synthetic oil changes every 5k for it's lifetime. No leaking under the car, AC freezing cold, all displays are in good working order, and most of the front end suspension has been recently replaced, along with some other things including :
- Upper control arms (L/R)
- Ball joints (L/R)
- Strut rods (L/R)
- Front brakes
- PCV valve
- Air filter
- Cabin filter
- Rear axle carrier bushing
- Repaired the Nakamichi system so it outputs to all speakers again
Seller is also including some new parts that haven't been installed yet, such as OEM motor and transmission mounts, KYB rear shocks and some other things.
My only concerns, as the vehicle is about 2hrs away from me, are the wheel well rust, which, if only surface rust i can easily clean up, and that the vehicle has been primarily serviced at indy shops and seller doesn't have complete receipts for the services. The seller has been very honest, upfront and helpful throughout all of my questioning and encourages me to request as much as i need from him, as he recognizes this is going to be my first car and wants me to be satisfied with my purchase.
I have included some photos below.
If you were me, considering the scarcity of them here, would you take the two hour trip to go take a look at it? Between the visible rust, scratches and unknown history, might i still have something dependable on my hands? I'm happy to put a little coin into her over the coming years.. i just couldn't justify 2-5k annual maintenance costs on it. Appreciate any thoughts at all, even if you think i shouldn't be looking at an old LS as my first car.. Thanks in advance for anything.

So would it be possible to take it to the dealer during the pre-inspection and see if they'll L/Cert it? I of course are willing to pay the 1200 or so to get it done.
Or is just for people who forget what kind of car they have when loading groceries?
If its worth it, can I buy it at a discount somewhere or should I get it from the dealer? Or have them install it? Ive seen the DIY thread but Id hate to have it crooked. (Thats why they are installing my side moldings).
Hi guys
There's a small hole in one of my cupholders and theres something that looks like a home phone wire sticking out of it.... is it for some kind of car phone back in the day... is this from the factory.. if so why on earth is it coming out of one of the cup holders.
If you guys never heard of it, just let me know, I'll ask the previous owner but want to make sure its factory or something he installed that I have to ask him.
Hello,
I have 22" aftermarket rims on my 07 ls460. These tires do not have TPMS in them. I went on amazon.com and searched for about 2 weeks looking for the right sensors. I ended up getting Denso Item # 550-0103. So I take the sensors to my custom wheel guy and he charges me $150 to install them. When I pick up my car my dash says checking but it never finds. I dropped my car off again today while I was working and when I picked it back up it said the same thing. The guy said that they "wake up" but aren't recognized so he has to type in each sensors info. After he does that he said it shows up but then disappears later. I'm not sure if I believe him or if he's just trying to get me to buy sensors from him. I did take my car to tires plus and they tried to sync up and they told me that there machine cant find them.
Has anyone had any issues with buying sensors and them being defective?
What sensors work??
Amazon gave me a $5 coupon to help offset the $150 I paid to have them installed LOL. and since they are in my tires now..... I have to pay again to have them removed before I can even return them to Amazon for a refund. I need to find the correct ones so I can install them when he removes the Densos.
I called auto parts warehouse and they are telling me that they are a direct fit.
