Hello All:
New to the forum, kicking it off with some pics of my favorite convertible. Looking to upgrade the rims. I saw an SC 430 on the road last month with some newer rims maybe from an IS350. Anyone have experience with modernizing the rims with Lexus factory options?
2008 Es350 I changed the battery and now the windows wont work, none of them at all and the A/C display wont light up..My radio works fine but just not the ac display.
any help would be appreciated
thanks!
Hello,
I own a 02 es300 144k miles
My car has decided to finally give me my first real stumper.
So my daughter parked the car locked it and went off with her friend's.
Upon try to start the car this is. What happens.
stick key in ignition. First turn everything works.
Battery is good and new.
All lights gauges come on Just fine.
then you turn to start. Nothing. No clicking. Nothing.
I thought about jumping the starter with a screw driver but I would need to remove things to access.
Any thoughts??
fuses are fine.
I believe the headlight level sensor has gone bad on my 2002 RX300 and I'm having a hard time finding a replacement one. I see many for sale for a wide variety of Lexus models but none that match my model. However, the ones I see for other Lexus models look exactly the same as my installed one. Like this one:
Here I have 08-10 ISF headlights in great condition. They have ASF built in. They require bulbs and ballast. $500 shipped thanks. Will add closer photos later on today. One of the tabs has been repaired on the passenger side headlight.
As the title suggests the driver side window is squeaking when i roll it up and down doesn't happen all the time and just recently started making this noise (last two days). I've tried spraying the tracks with silicon lubricant (wd-40 brand) hopefully this helps/fixes it. Anyone else experience this issue? Its a 2015 Lexus GS350 F-Sport with only 55,000 kms so this is odd to me since none of my other cars make this noise and they have well over 150,000 kms on them.
Second thing is the drivers side & passenger side vent rattle when going over bumpy roads (pretty sure the center console vents rattle too) have told Lexus about this and they padded it down but it still does it have considered putting felt in myself but after reading other threads about people doing that and still are unable to resolve that problem it worries me.
Lastly I've got the Bridgestone turanzas El-400 and they are driven on about 8 months a year, they are noisy but i am trying to use them as long as possible, also have a separate set of tires for winter which are used for the remaining 4 months of the year. How many kms more do you think I can get out of these tires?, from what i can tell the tires were probably used for about 40,000 - 45000 kms since the car always had winters for 4 months a year I know it depends on driving patterns but I want to get at least 60000 kms out of them before replacing it. Anyone else with these tires that were able to get a good amount of kms out of them?
so i have a 94 Lexus es300. I have rough idle, horrible gas mileage, and now theres white smoke coming from the tailpipe. Theres also a smell of gas inside the car
Hi all, I'm new here--joined when I was shopping for a Lexus, and now the proud owner of a 2015 RX450h. Been quite an adventure--it was broken into a month after I bought it! Replaced the windows and pillars and it's almost like new.
I cleaned it today with the Meguiars Ultimate Waterless Wash & Wax, and it looks pretty good. Some swirls, but I figure I'll deal with it later.
The issue for me is the paint transfer type scratch on the lower passenger door--like it scraped against something white or a bumper. I tried vinegar and Goo Gone on a little part of it but it seemed to have little effect. It doesn't look like it's through the clear coat--more like it's atop the surface. What should I use to deal with it?
On the driver's side mirror, there is a mystery "overspray" that looks like hard water, but it's raised. I tried to scratch off with my fingernail but no luck. I have no idea what it is or how it got there. Any tips about how to remove this?
Hi Lexus family, last year I was visiting my cousin and to make a long story short, she accidentally lightly backed into my 2013 GS350 in the front fender. She came into the house and told me and my stomach dropped. But after looking at the car, I didnt really see a huge issue. There was only a scratch and that was pretty much it, so I was like "its okay, its just a scratch'.... a couple days later, I got a message on my dash saying my Front Adaptive Light wasnt working but that seemed to correct itself after a little while so I didnt think much of it.. but then I noticed that there was now moisture starting to get into the headlight and I am not sure what to do now. It looks terrible, so I am turning to the forums for some advice.
I attached some pictures.. the pic with the circled area is where she hit my car. I did see that one of the mounts seems cracked but it doesnt appear to be any crack going into the housing that would allow moisture to enter but obviously I can only see part of the headlight from the top and I cannot see any deeper behind it or behind the fender.
What do you guys recommend here? I am hoping that I can perhaps use some silicone to seal the crack but I would need to locate the crack first obviously. If I got a new headlight or a used headlight off of ebay, is it just plug and play or would the Lexus dealer need to do any type of "programming" ?
So I had a set of 2011-12 OEM headlights on my 08 F that I ended up taking off and replacing with the Depo brand of the 2012-13 headlights. They arrived yesterday (seller shipped them super quick from NY). They were already wired for the car minus the LEDs. Now note that I had the dealer tech turn off the high beam DRLs that the 08-10s had came with. With a bit of some help from a friend in Wisconsin who had bought the same set, I was able to get the LEDs to work. Inside the fuse box under the hood by the drivers side, my buddy had a Add a circuit mini blade fuse holder. Added a 7.5 amp to the 10 amp fuse and wired the green wire from the wiring harness that is on the bottom towards the high beam for 100% LED brightness, 50% for the black wire, and used the white wire for the ground. Got some blue butt connectors, 16 gauge wire and made his magic work. Now the LEDs turn on as soon as all the accessory functions turn on before starting the car and while the car is on! Back to the whole review of the headlights.. They work just like the OEM and the LEDs are pure white without the yellow shade of tint that the 2011-12s came with so I would say they are more like 2013-14 headlights. As far as light output from the projectors goes, the light is very good and you can see a bit of the cutoff since these are not original but with 6000K bulbs it works wonders. For those of you who are looking to buy the Depo brand for your Fs I would say 10/10 go for it. The sellers name is *autolights360* on eBay. Hope this review helps those of you who are looking to upgrade to the 2011+ style headlights!
The following ones seem to be the best option: Ultra Vision Light, Clima Comfort, Deep Light seems to allow the most light in and block the most of what needs to be blocked..
I was parked at the airport for about 9 days. I returned to my 4GS and unlocked the car everything was normal as usual with starting the car and driving it home. The car sat in the home garage for a few hours and when I went to take the car to out the same day it wouldnt start. I got a message in the MID key not detected and I think it told me to put fob near or touch start button with fob. I attempted that and no response. Anyway ended up using my other fob instead. Went and bought 2032 3 volt energizer batteries and tried two with no success. Im stumped on this one, last time battery was low I got warning message from car replaced battery and all was good.
Ive been lurking in the shadows for awhile now reading threads about the RC-F to gauge owner satisfaction in the vehicle. First time caller long time listener so to speak. Seems to be a great community of RC-F owners.
I have always liked rare cars - I hate the idea of driving the same car as 12 other people in every parking lot. I like a cross of luxury, comfort and performance and Ive always been a gasp Acura guy. I drove a 2012 TL SH-AWD and it was an amazing car. Many will say it was polarizing to look at but I liked it and it was a blast to drive.
I am currently driving a 2015 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid. Like the RC-F, its quite rare. Ive only seen one other one in the wild. It gets terrible reviews for being bland and unassuming (a bloated Accord - Ive heard them all). But its been an outstanding and reliable vehicle. It has 377 hp, 341 lbs of torque and 0-60 in 5 seconds flat, which is quite impressive for a large heavy 4 door sedan. Essentially I get V8 performance from 4 cylinder fuel economy. Often half of my drives are on EV.
All that said, it doesnt speak to me - my emotion that is. It gets me from point A to B and is very fun to drive, but there is no passion there. Thats where Acura has been lost for many years and only recently is showing glimpses of coming back. Cue the RC-F - its one of those few cars that looks awesome from every angle outside, with a gorgeous interior.
The wife loves the RC-F but wont let me pull the trigger yet - even though the RLX is paid for. Anyway, just curious if any RC-F owners drove larger sedans before or came from Acura. Would love to hear your perspectives.
