Though Ford reportedly tells dealers it reserves the right to change its mind
Lincoln will be renaming its MKC crossover, calling it the Corsair instead. Automotive News is reportingthat the recently trademarked, yet storied Ford model name Corsair will be affixed on the 2021 model year crossover.
The report says Ford has already told its U.S. dealers about the name at an Orlando meeting last month. Ford has a long history with the Corsair nameplate in the States and abroad: Most recently, it has been in use in Australia in the early 1990s, in the UK in the 1960s, and before that Ford offered an Edsel Corsair in the late 1950s. Even if an Edsel connection might not be the best possible thing for a Ford product, let alone a Lincoln, it might serve the crossover well as Ford moves to ditch the MK naming convention it's used for Lincoln for the past decade.
Still, the manufacturer is said to have cautioned dealers it might opt out of using the Corsair name before production time.
At the same meeting, Ford reportedly showed the next-generation Escape, the Explorer, a battery electric crossover dubbed the Mach 1, a yet-unnamed small SUV (which might be the Bronco) , and a new Lincoln Continental complete with suicide doors.
The MKC will still receive a refresh for next year, retaining its letters-name for a couple of years before the bigger redesign for 2021. Currently, the MKC is the strongest-selling Lincoln product in China, and it brings in numerous new Lincoln customers there. In the U.S. it's outsold by the MKX crossover and is neck-and-neck with the MKZ sedan
General Motors (NYSE:GM) said on Monday that it will spend $175 million to retool a Michigan factory to make two upcoming new Cadillac sedans.
Yes, sedans. While rival Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) plans to replace most of the sedan and hatchback models it sells in the U.S. with SUVs, GM is following a different path -- despite the fact that Cadillac's U.S. sedan sales fell 27% last year.
What's happening: A big investment at GM's newest U.S. factory
The two new Cadillac sedans coming to the Lansing Grand River factory will replace three current Cadillac models: The compact ATS and the midsize CTS, both of which are built at Lansing Grand River now, and the larger XTS, which is built at a GM plant in Ontario. The big Cadillac CT6 sedan is unaffected.
GM is planning to launch seven new Cadillacs, with one coming every six months on average, between now and 2021. A large Cadillac crossover SUV, likely to be called the XT7, will be the next to debut, late this year or early in 2019 -- but the CT5 could be the Cadillac that follows the XT7, sometime next year.
What we know about the new Cadillacs
The upcoming new Cadillac sedans will probably be called the CT4 and CT5, in line with Cadillac's current alphanumeric naming scheme. Spy photos of a disguised vehicle that might be a prototype CT5 suggest that it will share styling themes with the well-received Cadillac Escala show car, which was presented in 2016 as a preview of the brand's future styling direction.
I have tried everything I can find, but I still have alternator whine. I have ground loop isolators on RCA, I have the ground wired to the chassis, I have tried to ground an input female plug (AUX-L) to the head unit itself. I have tried to ground an RCA plug to the head unit itself. NOTHING.

2004 GX470
Converting the rig to an off road setup and looking at staying under 3" of lift. Seeing a bunch of brands out there (Toytech, Old Man Emu, Icon, Fox, etc). I am looking to make it a capable vehicle but looking to keep as much on-road comfort as I can.
Anyone have a setup they love, or tried one you didn't like due to stiffness or poor quality?
Thanks in advance.
I just ordered a set of BC coilovers from FIGS engineering because I wanted to bundle it together with their front LCA bushing and I customized the spring rates to be 14k/12k but a rep contacted me and recommended going 14k front and rear due to the 3IS having a divorced rear spring and shock set up and that due to the spring being "closer to the pivot point which makes the spring 'feel' lighter than it is" they are recommending a square set up over a staggered one. I have never seen anyone run a square set up when it comes to spring rates so I am just curious as to what other people's inputs are for this situation. Should I go with the square set up they recommend or still run 14k/12k?
Like in a previous post I made, I found an clean 17K mile RCF for 45K. Now I find myself at carmax every other day trying to find things wrong... what do you guys think of this peeling on the wheels
My cousin is looking to buy the car. 2012 being an early year in its run, I assume there are issues. Heard about the noise, and see some head gasket complaints. Any other known problems with this version?
there is no sound from the stereo and the nav screen only lights up grey for a few seconds then goes off. have tried a replacement amp (although second hand) but has not made a difference
The good ol modbug hit me so I was looking around at different kinds of wheels for the RCF and ran across the SSR SP3s. I was speaking with someone from a company (not the usual CL vendors) just to look at what the damage would be for a set of 19" SSR SP3 in SBC with gold hardware before I was dead set on purchasing.
He said that the 19" SP3s will not fit our cars due to the brake clearance and that the 20" would fit. I'm looking at 19s specifically because I enjoy driving through the mountains and would prefer to avoid 20s. Can anyone confirm if this is true?
So my door pillars are currently faded so I wanted to replace them. However, I cannot find anything online. If anyone knows where I can find glossy black door pillars or if anyone knows part numbers I could use please let me know! :)
I was hoping you folks could help me with appropriately pricing my 2007 RX 400h. Ive had it listed for about a week and a half on Craigslist and I have it parked on a busy street with a good old fashioned "FOR SALE" sign on the windshield. KBB private party value shows a range of $8200 - $10600. I have it priced at $9900 with the goal of getting $9500 for it. So far Ive only shown it once and was offered $8800 for it.
Here is the particulars:
108,500 Miles
Full service history with all scheduled maintenance completed
Almost every option available - The only one I'm sure of that it doesnt have is the Cruise control distance feature
Garage kept
Exterior 8.5/10 - Interior 9/10
The car really is in excellent condition. Everything works like it should, no body damage aside from the small scratches and door dings you would expect on an 11 year old car. The only real "problem" is that the Carfax shows that there was a minor accident in 2007 when the car had 5000 miles on it. Not much detail other than it says "Paint/sealant reapplied".
I just wanted some unbiased viewpoints on how its priced. Any advice or opinions are welcome and I will do my best to respond to any questions ASAP.
Looking for suggestions. We have a 2004, ended up misplacing my main key fob and looking to replace this. Wanted to see what the best option is to purchase an OEM replacement part # 89994-50240 (other than ebay or amazon)? This is the SmartKey with the option to open the trunk vs the valet. I called the local dealer, was quoted $169 plus cost to program. I also spoke with my local mechanic and they mentioned beware of internet purchases that could potentially have issues with programming. Some of the other thread mentioned call the locksmith. What have you done to replace a lost SmartKey? Are there other options with all the same functions?
