my steering rack is dead and I’m in the middle of replacing it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this thing out? Even if I remove both inner Tie rods I can’t get it out. The only way I see is to loosen the motor mounts, raise the engine a few inches and it’s out. I don’t want to remove the inner tie rods on the Rack Dr rebuild

Now that's what I call a click bait title...

I finished the timing belt on the '01 today, so I had to share.

For those keeping score, here's the thread on the TB job I did on my 2005 back at the end of April

Not much difference between the 2 jobs really, but the 2001 was a little tougher, only because of the age of the car.



Up on jacks and ready to tear into it...


Not too terrible for a 17 year old Northern car...


Got the radiator out and pulling out a very worn serpentine belt


Had to use a puller on this car due to a very secure crank pulley. Everything else came apart fairly easily


93,000 mile belt on top of the new belt. Probably could have lasted a very long time..


Water pump looked pretty good as well. No signs of leakage.


Coming back together. No problems encountered hear either.


After I got it running today I backed it out into the sun and cleaned up the engine bay


And all back together. Tomorrow I'm going to detail it and polish the headlights


All in all, it went well. I started yesterday morning, and got the new belt installed and called it a day. Got back on it today and finished the close up. Since I had the car up off the ground, I did a drain/fill on the transmission.

I also installed a new Coolant Sensor. Not having issues, but I figured since it's nearly at 200K, I might as well swap out the sensor. As soon as I started to remove the connector, the top half of the sensor broke apart in my fingers. Good thing I was replacing it!

I put in a new thermostat and replaced the radiator hoses too, all due to age. So, I should be good to go for a couple years on this thing. Should be interesting to see what will need attention on this car and when it may happen....

Car has been running fine, Check VSC light and Check Engine light both came on a couple of weeks ago but car has driven fine. Today, out of nowhere my steering wheel locks up and the Check AWD, brakes and ABS light come on and it seems as if my battery is beginning to die. I cut the car off and it did not come on again afterwards. A few hours later, I went to crank it and it came on and the steering wheel seemed fine but as I began to drive it locked up again. Its an 06 IS250.

I'm hoping someone can shed some light for me as ADA law is not as clear cut as I had hoped. I own a commercial apartment building with a shared male and a second shared female restroom for tenants and customer use. Currently, the bathroom is not ADA compliant and I have been hesitant to touch the stall partitions for fear of doing so will require ADA compliance. The building was built in 1950s. This has severely limited what I want to do with these restrooms, as you can imagine, and I have only been able to do light cosmetic work.

Now, I have plans to completely overhaul the restrooms down to the studs and rework the layouts. I am willing to install handicap stalls and think I have the space. I am curious if anyone has experience out there that can tell me if this will trigger ADA compliance to anything outside of the restroom, such as the hallways leading to the restrooms. I am not willing to open that can of worms. Currently, to access the restrooms, customers need to go through each of the commercial spaces, where there is a shared back hallway with the restrooms. I cannot even imagine the cost if I am forced to make the entire building compliant. If it is only confined to the restroom, then I can handle it. I am worried that when the permits go through, the city inspections are going to require more changes.

The SF01 is the first design in our rotary flow line up. Using the rotary flow method allows us to build the SF01 stronger and lighter then cast wheels, weighting in at only 22-24 pounds per wheel.

The SF01 is a true directional wheel that allows wheel rotation to be the same on both driver and passenger side. The SF01 will be available in our standard Brush Face Silver color and our signature Brush Titanium.

The SF02 is a mutli spoke wheel with a web design that allows the wheel to give you a unique look.The SF02 will be available in our standard Brush Face Silver color, Brush Titanium and Brush Bronze.

The SF03 is a split 5 spoke U-design that allows the wheel to give your brakes more air and helps show off your big brake system. Wheels will be available in our standard Brush Face Silver color, Gloss Black Tinted Machince and and our signature Brush Titanium.

I'm planning to buy coilovers but haven't decided which one yet. Anyone with experience between these two? What would you prefer for most comfort without sacrificing to much quality and what has a better drop? Any picture with silver's coils on a GS would be nice

I am looking to purchase 2015 GS350 F sport with 23K miles on it. The GS has clean title without any accidents or damages to the car. The color is grey with red interior and the seller is willing to sell the car for $32K before taxes. Is this great deal? Thanks in advance..
