Tanabe Tips Vibrate At Idle

$

I just got the Tanabe Medalion installed and I noticed that the exhaust tips vibrate at idle. I don't remember if the stock tips did the same.

Anyone else with the Tanabe or other exhausts notice vibrating tips??

RX 350 Bumper

Hello,

I am brand new to the forum and did some looking but could not find a thread with answers to what I am looking for.

I have a 2014 Lexus RX350 F-Sport. I just saw a new one and really like the exhaust coming out the rear bumper.

Is there a way to do this for my car? Has anyone done/tried this and do you have pics?

Thanks for everyone's time! Also, if this has already been a thread I am sorry for starting a new one.

My (old) 2007 is220d SE

Registered here a while ago but never put a thread up on my 07 is220d SE. Well i sold it last week to a co worker minus a couple parts which i swapped over to my new 2010 is220d F Sport (seperate thread going up for that and current mods/plans/blah blah).

So my old 220d SE. Started life with me as a standard car with the exception of having already had the DPF gutted and a DPF emulator fitted.

Over maybe a year and a bit the car was lowered on H&R springs, got a DTUK/DTE systems cam angle/rail pressure tuning box, got a RonBox (somethink akin to an FCD-ish) and ultimately had the ronbox out, tuning box kept in, ecu remapped with a little tweaking to make things play nice and between the tuning box and ecu tuning as well as an intake i ghetto rigged with a WRX MAF pipe, the stock MAF sensor, an is250/is350 aftermarket intake heatshield and a K&N cone filter i managed to put down 383lbft and 231bhp on a hub dyno. Nice little gain considering standard the is220d is 300lbft and 175bhp ish. Additionally the car got drilled discs all around and mintex pads all around because f--k brake fade lol

also for the lesser clued up on the diesel variant here.. Theyre also manual transmission only and with a 6 speed box. Suffice to say an is250 wouldnt see which way i went lol

anyway heres some pics of the SE. Ill throw up a new thread on my new F Sport.

Stock vs tuning box alone vs ecu tuning ontop of tuning box.

miss the old girl but i think ill top it with my new 2010 is220d f sport once i get some stuff done with it (can spy it in one of the pics above).

Replacing front seat questons

I know there are many owners who complain about the comfort of the front and passenger seats. The CT is my fiances car and has had back issues in the past, needless to say the CT seats were pretty uncomfortable and we've even had to stop and get out during long trips because of them. We just had our wheels replaced and got a 2016 IS F-sport as a loaner. the seats in that were leaps and bounds better so my question is:

1 - Is it possible to put the 3IS F-sport seats in out CT F-sport?
2 - Is it a direct swap?
3 - Will it retain all its functions? (movement/positions, heated)

Thanks in advance

We have a 2009 GX470 with no problems. It runs great with 125K miles.

The only thing we would like is more room in the back for camping. Wondering how much bigger/more space the back of the LX570,

Who here has upgraded from the GX to the LX that can give me their opinion/feedback going from one to the other.
Thanks!

New Owner: What just happened?

Good day,
We picked up a 2017 GX Premium for my wife about 3 weeks ago now and I finally took the car out for an extended drive last night. At some point I was standing at a light on a somewhat steep hill, when the light changed and I let go of the brake the car rolled back for a second but then I heard this grinding sound, the traction control light kept blinking and it felt like the car was not moving for a few seconds all though my foot was on the gas... Honestly, scared me a bit. What is going on? I drive and have been BMW X5 and never experienced anything like it in it. What is going on here? Can someone shed some light on it for me please?

Thank you in advanced,
Igor

No start, no crank, dim dash lights - 1999 ES300

Hey guys, I have a '99 ES300. I just did a bunch of work on it, culminating in a new radiator and A/C condenser yesterday. Started it up for the first time in weeks last night with a fresh alternator and battery, and took it for a test drive. Apart from the alignment, everything else was peachy.

This morning, I tried to start it, and it was behaving very weirdly.

1. The "door open" light was flickering and getting fainter
2. With the door open, I stuck in the key, and the chime started for a half second, then stopped abruptly. When it stopped, the dash went dead. Turning it to ON, I could see the dash lights lit up, but extremely faintly...and it didn't look like it was running the light test (none went off).
3. I tested the battery, and it was good. Swapped in two known good batteries, same thing. Also cleaned all grounds, no change.
4. I waited a while, then went back out and tried again: KOEO, everything was behaving normally...chiming with door open, dash light test finished. As soon as I tried to start the car, I heard a loud click from what I assume is the starter relay, and everything went dead again. Same thing from this point on: see #2.

I checked all the fuses and relays, everything is in working order. Any ideas?

Thanks as usual.

Wheel spacers question?

$

I recently got some used Lexus ISF wheels on Craigslist to put on my 2000 GS300. I just put them on yesterday and I think they look great except the rear wheels which are wider because the set is staggered till look a little more "sunk in" to the fender than the front wheels do. My question is are there problems created by putting wheel spacers on my Lexus and if I do put some on which ones should I get? Are there specific brand better than others etc. These are the wheels I'm talking about.

Any shortcut on Radiator Fan Motor??

A friend had intermittent fan problems (04 LS430)and now it is toast and does nothing. Power is coming from the pigtail. We have purchased one (the passenger side) and I know the normal procedure to remove and replace, however there is only one bolt that holds the fan motor in place. Does anyone know how to just get the bolt off and on the new fan motor without removing everything? Or is it just not reachable?

Thanks

Anyone cross-shop a Volvo S60 T6 with the GS?

I've been looking closely at GS350 F-Sports, and am leaning toward a '13 or '14 model as my next car purchase (wife's car, primarily, but I'll drive it some too). I own an ISF, so I am familiar with Lexus' reliability. I came to the ISF from a BMW 335i, so I'm also familiar enough with the BMW/Merc lack of reliability as miles accrue - thus I am not considering one of those. I generally buy cars with ~30-40K miles and drive them to (or a bit past) ~100k. A buddy of mine has a Volvo S60 T6 R-Design and loves it. I've never taken it seriously in the past (never driven it), but now that I'm looking for another car, thought I'd consider it. The main point that makes me consider the S60 T6 is the turbocharged I6 engine. I love my ISF, but it's power is made high in the RPM band, and I truly miss the low-rpm torque of a turbo I6. In R-Design trim the S60 makes 325HP and 354TQ, and can be bumped higher with reasonable effort. If the Volvo forums can be believed, they seem to have better reliability than the Germans (though probably not to the level of Lexus). I've yet to drive one - will drive my buddy's next time he's in town, but am interested in whether any of you GS driver have experience owning/driving the S60 T6 AWD (six cylinder only, and preferably an R-Design - their answer to F-Sport). I know this forum will be Lexus biased, but honest feedback/experiences are welcomed.

How to remove the ECM

I have a 1996 LS 400. I'm trying to remove the ECM to have it refurbished. I removed the glove box and disconnected the bolts for the lower mounting bracket of the ECM unit. But I do no know how the access the mounting bolts for the upper bracket. Do I need to remove the CD player box above the glove box in order to access the bracket mounting nuts?
